What is a Dental Crown?
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance.
It fully covers the visible part of the tooth above the gum line.

When is a Crown Needed?
- To protect a weak tooth from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth
- To restore an already broken or severely worn-down tooth
- To cover and support a tooth with a large filling
- After root canal treatment
- To cover a discolored or misshapen tooth
- To hold a dental bridge in place

What is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth by "bridging" the gap between two healthy teeth. It consists of artificial teeth (pontics) held in place by crowns attached to the natural teeth or implants on either side.

Types of Dental Crowns:
- Porcelain Crowns – Best for front teeth, natural-looking
- Metal Crowns – Strong and durable, ideal for back teeth
- Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) – Blend of strength and aesthetics
- Zirconia Crowns – Strong, biocompatible, and aesthetic
- Resin Crowns – Affordable but less durable
